Val Glitsch has practiced architecture as a sole proprietor with a staff of 1-5 since 1984. In 1995, in recognition of her contributions to "the promotion of the aesthetic, scientific, and practical efficiency of the profession," she was elected to the American Institute of Architects College of Fellows, an honor bestowed on 3% of the profession.
Recognition at national, state, and local levels has focused on the architecture’s clarity, sensitive [but challenging] fit within its contexts, a conscious responsibility to the environment, and carefully developed spatial and perceptual sequences.
As lead designer and project architect, Val is the clients’ primary contact, staying with the project from the beginning to the end. The professional goal has always been to commit only to the work that can successfully and personally managed at any time, while seeking a good fit philosophically between clients and architect.
